Brooklyn Man Shot In The Face, Killed On Easter Sunday: Police

PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDENS, BROOKLYN — A man was fatally shot in the face in Brooklyn on Easter Sunday, according to police.

NYPD officers found Jerome Spence, 26, lying unconscious on the second floor landing of a Sterling Street apartment building near Bedford Avenue at about 10:20 p.m., said police.

Spence, who had been shot in the face, neck and chest, lived just across the street from where his body was found, according to police.

Emergency responders rushed the wounded man to Kings County Hospital but doctors were unable to save his life, police said.

No arrests had been made as of Monday morning, said police.

Spence was one of two men to die in a shooting in Brooklyn on Easter weekend — another man was found with a gunshot wound in his neck outside a Flatbush Avenue curry restaurant less than two miles away.
