Kiddie Science Internship Program
Interested in teaching science to young children? Then the Kiddie Science Internship Program may be right for you!
The Kiddie Science Internship Program seeks to connect a recent graduate or current student focusing on science education, with firsthand experience in the development and implementation of science workshops for young scientists age 2 to 10. This program is ideal for an individual seeking to gain professional experience teaching science to young children in a flexible work environment.
This internship program requires approximately 5 hours per week of combined teaching and planning time, from September to December.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
~ Lead a small group of young scientists in science experiments during workshops.
~ Assist with the set-up and preparation of experiments prior to the start of each workshop.
~ Assist with clean-up during and after the workshops.
~ Provide feedback and input on science lessons and topics of exploration.
REQUIREMENTS:
~ Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a teaching program with a focus in science education.
~ Must be punctual and reliable, and willing to travel to our location in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn.
~ Team player, willing to share ideas and be receptive to feedback.
~ Must be able to present lessons to a small group of 4-5 young scientists.
~ Must be willing to undergo a background check.
Interns will receive a travel reimbursement of $500 upon completion of the program.
