9pm- Rivals of the Peacemaker
Genre: Americana / indie folk
For fans of: The Civil Wars, The Lumineers, Emmylou Harris, Amy Mann

Sometimes the creative process sucks, and no one knows that more than really creative artists. Just ask Alex and Billy Watson, the wife-husband artistic force behind Chicago’s dark folk quintet, Rivals of the Peacemaker.  Rivals hold court in both approaches that have served country-tinged folk and Americana well over the past 100-plus years: Slimmed down to a duo, they create a stark, intimate mesh of top-notch songwriting and evocative vocals; With a backing band - made up of guitarist Anthony Rubino, drummer Derek Crawford and Jeff O'Connor on bass - they can craft soaring ballads and fiery, ramshackle stompers. Look for Rivals of the Peacemaker debut album August 2013.

“Rivals of the Peacemaker layer lush harmonies and foot stomping rhythms over evocative and dark songwriting “ - WLUW

11pm- The Plaine Truth
Genre: Rock, 70’s Soul
For fans of:  The Black Crowes,  Pearl Jam, Stevie Wonder, Aerosmith

The Plaine Truth is a NY band playing great original rock songs with a touch of 70's soul. The band was founded in late 2004 by drummer and singer Brian Plaine. Shortly after, Brian was joined by guitar player Yoav Thaler and a tight songwriting team was born. Brian and Yoav went through several different lineups in search of the perfect pocket, and ended up with bass monster Josh Levine locking down the rhythm section with a super solid groove. The Plaine Truth melds classic / hard rock, soul and funk into catchy, intelligent songs that capture the hearts of listeners everywhere. The band recorded a five-song EP in 2008 and is currently gigging around NYC.  A good fairytale is a really sweet thing but there ain't nothing like THE PLAINE TRUTH!

“There's nothing plain about The Plaine Truth. The band has a keen ear for melody and an ability to craft songs that insinuate themselves into your brain and refuse to leave. Alive is a splendid introduction, the sort that will have you checking the band's website on a regular basis to find out when the next album/ep is coming out. Don't miss out on The Plaine Truth.” Wildy Haskell - Wildy's World
