The Old Kurdish Library

Now the located in Fort Plain, the Kurdish Library's former Prospect Heights location has gone uncared for.

Established in 1986, the Kurdish Library and Museum was one of Prospect Heights' unheralded treasures. The library, located on the corner of Park Place and Underhill Avenue, was an invaluable resource for Kurdish-Americans who wanted to learn more about their heritage and culture.

But since the library moved to Fort Plain in upstate New York in April of this year, the library's former home has gone uncared for. The ivy and shrubbery are overgrown and there is trash in the yard.

One of Prospect Heights' most unique cultural centers is now a shadow of its former self.
