• Putnam Program Finds Tainted Wells (highlandscurrent.org) — Putnam Valley residents relying on private wells should know that PFAS “forever chemicals” have been found above state guidelines in about 20% of tested wells countywide, prompting state-funded filters and hookups. Floradan Estates and the Putnam Valley school district are specifically receiving attention and funding to address contamination traced partly to firefighting foam, with rebates available for home filtration systems.
