• Putnam Valley Mourns Siblings Killed in House Fire (putnampresstimes.com) — Two Putnam Valley High School students, siblings Alina and Jeremiah Toone, died after a May 27 house fire in Cortlandt Manor, prompting grief and counseling efforts across the Putnam Valley Central School District. Officials believe a failed power strip and extension cord sparked the blaze, which trapped the teens despite intense rescue attempts by firefighters and EMS. Local schools and the Putnam Valley Children’s Center are offering support to classmates and staff.
