The move shrinks Target's footprint in the borough and leaves the future of the large Queens Place space in limbo while its new owner, A&H Acquisitions, weighs options.

Police ID Teen Killed In Queens Shooting (patch.com) β Queens residents are reeling after 14-year-old Malakai Adams was fatally shot in the back near Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway on Monday afternoon. Police say he was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and no arrests have been made as detectives continue investigating what led up to the deadly shooting.

Family Of Jewish Journalist Killed In Queens Crash Says Mayor Mamdani Declined To Meet (vinnews.com) β A longtime Queens Jewish journalist, Cara Trager, died after a high-speed Memorial Day crash in Fresh Meadows, and her family is urging officials to fully examine whether antisemitism played any role. Prosecutors have charged the driver with manslaughter but not a hate crime, while relatives say the mayor declined to meet them, deepening concern about how anti-Jewish incidents in Queens are addressed.

Making a Federal Case of It: 2nd Circuit upholds order that law profs who lodged attorney complaints have right to publish them (abajournal.com) β Queens residents should know that a federal appeals court has upheld a ruling allowing law professors to publish their disciplinary complaints against 21 Queens County prosecutors and gain access to related hearings and records.
