Dr. Darryl Anderson, director of the Medical Assistant program at Plaza College in Queens, will join his students to offer tips on preventing “holiday heart” syndrome, when a combination of stress and excessive consumption of fatty and salty foods and alcoholic beverages results in heart problems such as high blood pressure, cardiac arrythmia, and even an elevated risk for a heart attack occurring at higher levels in December and January each year.
