LaGuardia Community College grants the highest number of associate degrees to Hispanic/Latino students in Queens, according to new rankings.

LaGuardia Community College/ CUNY in Long Island City grants the highest number of associate degrees to Hispanic/Latino students in Queens, according to new rankings released by Hispanic Outlook on Education Magazine. The rankings are based on data from the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics.
“Hispanic and Latino students make up nearly half of our incredibly diverse student population, and we are proud to help them achieve their personal and professional goals through higher education,” said LaGuardia President Kenneth Adams. “LaGuardia is where Hispanic and Latino communities in Queens earn their associate degrees. Our Queens community should know that at LaGuardia, we will support you every step of the way in getting a college degree—giving you the education and skills you need to build a career and a better life.”
LaGuardia is enrolls the second highest number of Hispanic and Latino students in New York State and is among the top five institutions where Hispanic students earn degrees or certificates, according to a report from Excelencia in Education.

With 48 percent of LaGuardia’s students reporting as Hispanic or of Latin Heritage, LaGuardia is a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), a special designation from the U.S. Department of Education.
