Man Arrested After Running Over Wife In Downtown Flushing: DA
Stephen Giraldo, 36, was arrested after his car ran into the mother on 41-80 Parsons Blvd. about 5:20 a.m., police said.

QUEENS — A 36-year-old driver with children onboard his SUV was arrested after running over his wife in Downtown Flushing on Tuesday amid a domestic dispute, the Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said.
Stephen Giraldo, 36, was arrested after his SUV ran into his 41-year-old wife on 41-80 Parsons Blvd. about 5:20 a.m. on Dec. 27, causing the vehicle to overturn, the NYPD said.
Giraldo is scheduled to return to court on Jan. 12, and he faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted, prosecutors said.

The 36-year-old entered his white Ford Explorer, told the children seated in the back to “keep your seat belt on” and accelerated, striking his wife, Sophis Giraldo, Katz said.
The car turned onto its side after striking the woman, Giraldo crawled out of the passenger side of the window, and then stabbed his wife with a knife, the district attorney said.

The woman suffered from trauma to her head and body, and was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Queens in critical condition, authorities said.
Giraldo was charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
The children onboard the vehicle were ages 11, nine, and six, the NYPD said.
