1. Teen Shot In Queens, Police Say (patch.com) — Residents in Queens are being alerted after a 17-year-old was shot in the chest near Beach 43rd Street and Beach Channel Drive on Sunday night. Police say the teen was taken to a local hospital and no arrests have been made as investigators work to determine what led to the shooting.
   

2. Elmhurst Hospital Welcomes New Therapy Dog To Support Behavioral Health Patients (patch.com) — Elmhurst Hospital in Queens has introduced Weasley, a specially trained therapy dog, to support patients in its behavioral health units through the new PAWS to HEAL program. Working four days a week with a clinical handler team, Weasley helps patients with anxiety, socialization, and emotional regulation, and will occasionally visit the Employee Wellness Center to boost staff morale.
   

3. Jackson Heights Restaurant Namaste Tasi Delek Donates 10% of Momo Crawl Sales to Nepal Flood Relief (nepyork.com) — Jackson Heights neighbors just packed the 14th annual Momo Crawl, where Namaste Tasi Delek on 74th Street in Queens pledged 10% of its momo sales to support flood relief in Nepal. Thousands of visitors filled Diversity Plaza and nearby streets to sample Himalayan dumplings, enjoy cultural performances, and vote in a friendly momo competition that also boosted local small businesses.
   

4. It's Electric Wins NYC Curbside EV Charging Contract (theevreport.com) — Queens will become the manufacturing hub for a new 700-unit curbside EV charging network that New York City is rolling out across all five boroughs. Brooklyn-based it's electric will build every charger here, supporting local jobs while expanding convenient charging for rideshare drivers and residents in dense neighborhoods with limited off-street parking.
   

5. The Unseen Plant That Could Save New York's Shorelines (hellgatenyc.com) — Jamaica Bay's long-lost eelgrass meadows once protected the Queens shoreline and nurtured abundant marine life, and scientists now see a renewed chance to bring them back. With cleaner New York City waters and new regional cooperation, researchers are racing to restore this underwater plant, which can stabilize coasts, reduce flooding risk, and improve water quality around Queens and beyond.
