Man Charged In Deadly Queens Stabbing That Killed 1 (patch.com) — Queens residents are learning more about Wednesday's fatal stabbing near 194th Street and Linden Boulevard, where 40-year-old Eugene Lowe was found with multiple stab wounds and later died at a local hospital. Police say 30-year-old Akeem Brown has now been arrested and charged with murder and weapon possession, while the investigation into the deadly dispute with a group of men continues.

2. 3 Suspects Wanted For Slashing In Elmhurst: NYPD (patch.com) — Police are asking Elmhurst and broader Queens residents for help identifying three suspects who allegedly beat and slashed a 36-year-old man on the street last weekend, leaving him in critical but stable condition at Elmhurst Hospital. Investigators have released surveillance images and are urging anyone with information to contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers tip lines or submit tips online or via X.

3. Bellerose YMCA builds new playground in collaboration with Islanders Children's Foundation and Kaboom! (qns.com) — Families in eastern Queens are getting a major new playground at the Cross Island YMCA, built with help from more than 130 volunteers and support from the Islanders Children's Foundation and Kaboom!. The playspace is designed around neighborhood input to give local kids a safe, welcoming place to play, and is part of a broader push to address play inequity across New York City.

4. Delta flight makes emergency JFK landing after cabin pressure issue (nbcnewyork.com) — A Delta flight bound for Phoenix had to turn back and make an emergency landing at JFK in Queens after a cabin pressurization issue, but everyone on board was safe and uninjured. The plane returned around 10:30 a.m., and maintenance crews are inspecting it while Delta works to rebook affected passengers. Federal aviation officials are investigating the incident.

Michael Gianaris Joins Metropolitan Park Casino Project in Queens (bonus.com) — A major Queens development just hired a familiar local political figure, as former state senator Michael Gianaris joins Steve Cohen's $8 billion Metropolitan Park casino project as senior vice president of external relations. He's barred from lobbying Albany for two years, but will work with community stakeholders as the Citi Field–area project targets a 2030 completion and remains one of New York's most-watched casino plans.
