Woman Found Dead Inside Queens Home: Police (patch.com) — Residents near Rockaway Boulevard in Queens awoke to a heavy police presence after officers found a 31-year-old woman fatally stabbed inside a home early Tuesday morning. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and while her identity remains withheld, detectives and the medical examiner are still working to determine what happened as the investigation continues.

'Where are we going to go?': Flooding forces Queens family out of home of 34 years (gothamist.com) — A Hollis family who's lived in their Queens home for 34 years has been forced out after repeated flooding and an August storm destroyed a basement foundation wall, prompting a city demolition order. As officials weigh buyouts and long-term flood resilience, the family fears losing their main asset and possibly having to leave the neighborhood they love.
   

3. Building a city for tomorrow's storms (nydailynews.com) — Queens is getting three new green infrastructure projects that will turn concrete medians into storm‑absorbing spaces, part of a broader push to prevent Ida‑style flooding. RI man injured in Times Square stabbing attack that left woman dead (providencejournal.com) — A woman from Queens was shot and killed by police after allegedly stabbing two people in a crowded Times Square attack, leaving one Rhode Island man injured and a 32‑year‑old woman dead. Authorities say the knife assaults were random and describe a tense four‑minute standoff before officers opened fire when the suspect advanced with both knives.

MetroCard machine winners collect their items in Queens (ny1.com) — Queens residents might spot some unusual cargo leaving a local MTA facility, as collectors pick up decommissioned MetroCard machines they won in a recent online auction.
