Queens Borough President Joined by NYPD & FDNY to Unload Turkeys

2,000 Turkeys Donated by Stop & Shop as Food Bank for New York City Responds to Demand for Families in Need During Thanksgiving

Stop & Shop donated 2,000 turkeys to the Food Bank for New York City to help battle hunger in Queens. Assisting Queens Borough President Melinda Katz unload the turkeys were members of the NYPD Hurricane Recovery Team who provided emergency relief efforts from NY in the aftermath of recent hurricane disasters and members of the FDNY.

Stop & Shop’s Turkey Express program will deliver nearly 21,000 turkeys to hunger relief organizations in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island this holiday season.

Stop & Shop donates over $12 million in product and financial support to individual food banks. In addition to the Turkey Express program, Stop & Shop continues to fight hunger through the Food for Friends campaign, which will raise more than $1 million this year for more than 300 local hunger relief organizations.
