FAR ROCKAWAY, QUEENS — A Queens woman faces animal cruelty charges for tossing a dog down her apartment building's trash chute, prosecutors announced Thursday.
Far Rockaway resident Dominiqua Parrish, 29, stands accused of animal cruelty and animal torture for throwing a small dog down the trash chute in her Beach 59th Street apartment building on Jan. 29, according to the Queens District Attorney's Office.
Video surveillance shows Parrish leave her seventh-floor apartment just before 3 a.m., holding a small, golden-haired dog by the neck, according to the charges. She brought the dog into the garbage room down the hall, then left the room without the dog, prosecutors said; a video camera in the basement showed a building worker take the dog from the trash compactor.
