1. Today, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand will host a town hall meeting at York College in Jamaica to address a wide range of issues from the Inflation Reduction Act to the PACT bill. Constituents are invited to voice their concerns and seek help from the senator's office. The meeting will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. in the second-floor auditiorium at York College, located at 94-20 Guy R. Brewers Boulevard. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

2. In advance storm season, the N.Y. state Department of Environmental Conservation is giving away 20,000 inflatable flood barriers to eligible, at-risk homes as part of its Rainfall Ready Action Plan. Queens residents, however, are not convinced of the efficacy of the city's short term protective measures against flooding.

3. Lawyers with the Legal Aid Society are asking Wilmington Trust Bank to grant a repreive to a St. Albans homeowner who lost the title to his property in a mortage scam. Johnnie Jackson, 64, is about to be evicted from the home he has lived in since childhood. Now, he and his Legal Aid attorney are asking Wilmington Trust to stop the eviction and return the house back to Jackson.

4. On Tuesday morning, a transgender woman in Queens was robbed, punched in the face, and verbally harassed. The 33-year-old victim was walking down Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights when a man stole her purse and called her a homophobic slur. He was last seen running west on Roosevelt Avenue. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force has asked the public's help in identifying the attacker and tracking him down.

5. After some confusion, Queens Senator Joe Addabbo clarifies that people under the age of 21 are indeed allowed to purchase whipped cream. Though various news outlets ran stories claiming otherwise, there are no restrictions on who can purchase regular whipped cream. There are restrictions, however, on who can purchase whipped cream chargers or cartridges, which contain nitrous oxide that is dangerous when inhaled directly.
