Here are the top three stories today in Queens:

  1. BIG's Wildflower Studios project in Queens has received its construction green light from the Department of Buildings. The proposal was first revealed in 2019 by American actor, producer, and director Robert De Niro's Wildflower Development Group and BIG, and showed a 650,000 square foot production studio, located in the Astoria neighborhood of northwest Queens. Once complete, the studio will be the first vertical commercial film, television, and creative studio in the world. (ArchDaily)
  2. On Saturday night, a Queens diner customer threatened people inside with a knife, following an argument with other customers. 47-year-old Kohrelle Brisco got into an argument with a man, went into the kitchen, and returned with a knife to chase customers around the diner and parking lot, according to eyewitness reports. He is facing charges of menacing and harassment. (WABC-TV)
  3. A new Queens bar is looking to bring the energy of a city sports bar to Forest Hills. On Saturday, Roam opened just off Austin Street at 107-12 70th Rd. in the 1,800 square foot space previously occupied by Numero 28 pizzeria. To celebrate the Super Bowl and the bar's grand opening, the owners will run promotions on Feb. 13. (Queens Post)
