• Texts, Video Help Convict NY Woman In Attempted Murder Case: Authorities (dailyvoice.com) — A 26-year-old Rensselaer woman has been convicted of attempted murder, assault, and weapons charges after prosecutors used video and her own text messages to link her to a 2025 shooting. She was arrested at her home in Rensselaer and now faces up to 25 years in prison when she’s sentenced in July.
   

• Legal but misleading: Homeowners warned about property record letters (cbs6albany.com) — Homeowners in Rensselaer County are being sent official-looking letters urging them to pay more than $100 for property records they can usually get cheaply or free from the county clerk. Officials say the mailings are legal but misleading and advise residents to ignore them and contact the clerk’s office instead, which in Rensselaer County is now offering free deed copies to anyone who brings in the letter.
