• Rhinecliff Hotel Begins New Life With Hospitality-Foodie Power Couple As Operators (thedailycatch.org) — New operators are taking over the historic Rhinecliff Hotel, with plans to reopen this summer and fully revamp the rooms, restaurant, and new café-lounge by next year. The couple, who moved to Rhinebeck last year, will build on recent Rhinebeck Planning Board approval for more parking while collaborating with local artists to reimagine the beloved riverfront spot.
   

• End of an Eyesore? The Town of Rhinebeck Moves Toward Demolition of Derelict Eveready Diner (thedailycatch.org) — The Rhinebeck Town Board has begun formal proceedings that could lead to demolishing the long-abandoned Eveready Diner on Route 9, calling the fire-damaged building unsafe and structurally unsound. A June 17 hearing will give the owners a chance to respond before the town decides whether to order demolition and potentially bill the costs back to the property.
