• Proposed Subdivision in Rhinebeck Hits Snag Over Conservation Easement Requirements (thedailycatch.org) — A 10-home subdivision off Route 308 in Rhinebeck is stalled because no land trust has agreed to hold a required conservation easement, putting the project’s future in doubt. Town Planning Board members are questioning the developer’s proposal to let a homeowners association control the preserved land, and may need to involve the Town Board or even amend zoning rules to keep conservation subdivisions workable. 
• New Musical THE PHOENIX Selected for Rhinebeck Writers Retreat's Triple R Program (broadwayworld.com) — Rhinebeck Writers Retreat has chosen the new musical “The Phoenix” for a special fall Triple R development cycle, continuing the town-based nonprofit’s role in nurturing major new works. The project will receive readings, a writing residency, and a November 2 staged reading in New York City, backed by support from the Howard Ashman Trust and other arts funders.
