
RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead store had a $1 million winner in last week's Powerball drawing.
According to the New York Lottery website, there were two second prize winners of $1 million in Wednesday night's drawing, with one ticket sold at Bapa Card & Gift at 763 Old Country Rd. in Riverhead.
The other ticket was sold in Louisiana. There was no first place winner for the $54.3 million.

Allan Patel, owner of the Riverhead story, said while the winner had not yet come forward to the shop, he was thrilled. "I'm amazed, it's just fantastic," he said.
And the store appears to be lucky: "We always have winners," Patel said, adding that he has "small" wins of $20,000, or $10,000; it's the second time in the store's history that someone has won "the big one," he said.

In 2017, the store had a $50,000 winner.
