15-Year-Old Charged With Stealing $1K+ In Items From LI Walmart: PD
He pushed the shopping cart filled with merchandise out of the store without paying, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A teen was arrested after stealing more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from the Riverhead Walmart on New Year's Day, police said.
At 7:40 p.m., Walmart employees told Riverhead Town police that someone left the store pushing a shopping cart full of merchandise without paying then fled in a waiting vehicle in the parking lot of the store, located on Route 58, officials said.
After an extensive investigation, a 15-year-old male was identified on security camera video, police said.

He was arrested on Wednesday at the Riverhead police station, charged with grand larceny, and released on an appearance ticket, police said.
