2 Arrested, Charged In Attempted Riverhead Liquor Store Hold-Up: PD
Both were wearing masks and appeared to have a handgun, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — Two men were arrested and charged Monday after the attempted robbery of a Riverhead liquor store last month, police said.
According to Riverhead Town police, the incident took place at 8:11 p.m. on April 29 at Lucky Wines & Liquors on West Main Street; a store employee reported two men wearing masks entered the store with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money, police said.
Both men fled the store with no proceeds, police said.

An investigation conducted by Riverhead Town police detective squad led to the arrest of both men, police said.
Nicholas V. Lobianco, 36, who is currently on supervised release with the New York State Board of Parole and residing at a shelter in Riverhead, was arrested and charged with first-degree attempted robbery, police said.

Andrew Rodriguez, 20, who had been living at the same shelter, was also arrested and charged with first-degree attempted robbery, police said. While under arrest at Riverhead Town police headquarters, Rodriguez was also found to be in possession of a debit card that was stolen on May 8, in the early morning hours from a motor vehicle parked on Hallett Avenue in Riverhead, police said.
