2 Burglarize Home In Aquebogue: Police
They reportedly stole a rifle and cash, police say.

AQUEBOGUE, NY — Two people burglarized an Aquebogue home Friday, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, authorities responded to a burglary in progress at a home on Main Road at 12:51 p.m. A man and a woman reportedly entered the home and stole a rifle, cash, and a jar with U.S. currency, police said. Both left the area in a green vehicle before police arrived, authorities said.
Riverhead Police Department patrol officers and detectives, as well as a Suffolk County Police Department aviation unit, searched the area but were unable to locate the pair, police said.

Detectives are investigating the burglary and are asking anyone with information to call Riverhead police at 631-727-4500; all calls will remain confidential, police said.
