2 Injured in Calverton Shooting: Police

The shooting took place in the parking lot of the Calverton Hills apartment complex, Suffolk County Police said.

CALVERTON, NY - Two men were wounded in a shooting early Sunday morning in Calverton, police said.

According to Suffolk County Police, a call came in at 2 a.m. reporting that two men had been shot in the parking lot of the Calverton Hills apartment complex on Hill Circle.

The first victim, 35, had been shot in the chest, abdomen and wrist, police said. He was airlifted by Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.

The second man, 22, was shot in the abdomen and was taken by car to Peconic Bay Medical Center before being transported by ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, police reported.

Both the victims underwent surgery and were reported to be in stable condition Sunday, police said.
