3 Arrested After Breaking Window At Riverhead Residence: Police

The incident was initially believed to be a burglary, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Three people were arrested after breaking a window at John Wesley Village in what was initially believed to be a burglary in Riverhead Wednesday, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, at 4:53 p.m. a 911 call came reporting a burglary in progress.

Responding officers located two witnesses who identified three people that had broken a window at a residence, police said. Officials then determined that a burglary had not occurred, as the location was a previous residence of Tywan Jones, one of the three arrested, police said.

James Telford, 57, of Medford, was arrested and charged with one count of third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and possession of burglar's tools, a misdemeanor, police said. He was released on a desk appearance ticket.

Tywan Jones, 44 of Riverhead, was arrested and charged with one count of third-degree criminal mischief,a felony, police said. He was held for morning arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court.

Joanne Pinder, 32, of Riverhead, was arrested and charged with one count of third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, police said. She was held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court.
