'Alive On 25' Sparks Road Closures In Downtown Riverhead Thursday
Fireworks, originally scheduled for earlier in July, will also take place Thursday in downtown Riverhead.

RIVERHEAD, NY —An annual favorite event in downtown Riverhead kicks off again Thursday, sparking some road closures in the area.
According to Riverhead Town Police, East Main Street will be closed from East Main Street and Ostrander Avenue to West Main Street and Griffing Avenue from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. In addition, parts of Peconic Avenue will also be closed, police said.
Police advised motorists to use alternate routes.

In addition, fireworks initially planned for July 1 will illuminate the night sky on Thursday at 9:15 p.m., organizers said.
Alive on 25, presented by the Downtown Riverhead Business Improvement District, also continues on July 29 and August 12, from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Alive on 25 is a free summer street festival in downtown Riverhead offering local craft beverages and wine, live music, artists, street vendors, and activities the whole family can enjoy. The free walkable, pop-up festival on Main Street features restaurant offerings, artist exhibitions, and much more, organizers said.
