2. 1st-Ever Shake Shack On East End Slated To Open Soon (patch.com) — Riverhead shoppers will soon have a new dining option as Shake Shack opens its first East End location at Tanger Outlets Riverhead on June 30, offering burgers, chicken, fries and shakes. The grand opening includes tote bag giveaways for early guests and a donation from each sandwich sold that day to a local food pantry, adding both flavor and community support in town.
3. Riverhead supervisor pitches early retirement program for town workers (riverheadlocal.com) — Riverhead Town Supervisor Jerry Halpin is pushing an early retirement incentive for town employees that he says could save up to 3% for Riverhead taxpayers in 2027 and beyond. Board members are split, questioning the lack of public discussion, the use of fund balance, and whether the proposal is being handled transparently as Riverhead wrestles with retention and salary pressures.
