Atlantis Welcomes New Harbor Seal Pup to Aquarium

Atlantis Marine World announced a new member of its family on Friday. 

Calypso, a 22-pound harbor seal pup, was born on Memorial Day shortly before midnight to mom Buoy. 

Atlantis' Director of Mammal Training, Ann Yaiullo, announced that Calypso is healthy and will be ready to join the other seals soon. Seal pups generally go through a nursing period of four weeks.

"The baby is healthy and we’re encouraged that mother and baby are adapting well," Yaiullo said. "This should be a lot of fun for visitors to watch this summer.”
