Bank Robber Flees Capital One in Riverhead, Public Asked To Help
The man made off with an undisclosed amount of money when he ran off on foot Tuesday, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY -Police are asking for the public's help to catch the thief who robbed Capital One Bank in Riverhead yesterday.
According to Riverhead Town police, a 911 call came in at 5:21p.m. from the branch located at 140 East Main Street reporting that a bald black man in his 30s had just robbed the bank and fled on foot, heading west.
He made off with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Upon police arrival it was confirmed the bank was robbed, police said.
A perimeter was set up and a K-9 unit was deployed, with the search yielding negative results, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective division was notified and responded to the scene and was assisted by the Suffolk County Police Department identification section in investigating the robbery, police said.
The Riverhead Police Department is asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to contact them at 631-727-4500. All calls will remain confidential.
