Bus Crash Sparks Injuries, Power Interruptions In Riverhead: PD
The crash happened Friday afternoon, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A bus crash in Riverhead Friday afternoon led to injuries and a power interruption in the area, police said.
According to Rivehead police, the incident took place at 3:07 p.m. at the intersection of Court Street and Griffing Avenue when the driver of a Ford Escape struck a Suffolk County Transit bus. The bus then hit a PSEG Long Island utility pole and a building on Griffing Avenue, police said.
Three passengers and the driver of the bus were taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said. The crash also led to a power outage in the area, police said.

PSEG Long Island, the Riverhead Fire Department, the Riverhead fire marshal's office, the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps and several other ambulance companies all responded, police said.
