Car Bursts Into Flames On Highway Sunday

A father and son reportedly escaped the burning vehicle when they first noticed smoke coming from the engine.

RIDGE, NY — A car burst into flames on the William Floyd Parkway Sunday. According to Suffolk County Police, the incident took place at 8:41 p.m. in the northbound lane when a 2013 Audi A4 caught fire just south of Route 25.

There were no injuries; Suffolk County Police Department Seventh Precinct officers and Ridge Fire Department rescue responded, police said. The northbound lane of the William Floyd Parkway was closed following the crash.
