Ex-LI Children's Home Worker Subdued Resident With Excessive Force: PD
He was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, police say.
WADING RIVER, NY — A former employee at a children's home in Wading River was arrested Friday after he was accused of using "excessive force to subdue" a resident, police said.
According to Riverhead Town police, on June 25 at 10:58 a.m., officers were called to Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York, on Wading River Road in Wading River, to take a report that involved a staff member using excessive force to subdue a resident.
The incident was turned over to the Riverhead Police Department's detective division, who continued the investigation in conjunction with the New York State Justice Center, police said.

On Friday, former employee Jamal Walker, 41, of Coram was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, a misdemeanor, police said.
Walker was arraigned in Riverhead Town Justice Court and released on his own recognizance, police said.
