Family, Friends Help 'Warrior' Mom In Cancer Battle
"I've never seen another human be so selfless and put others before themselves time and time again." Here's how you can help.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Friends and family are coming together to help a mom who's spent her whole life giving selflessly to others.
A GoFundMe page, "Donna's Breast Cancer Fund," was created by Gabriela Seymore of Riverhead to help her mother, who's facing a health challenge.
Earlier this year, she said, her family learned that her mother Donna was diagnosed with breast cancer.

"It has been tough but if you know my mother you know that she is a warrior. For as long as I can remember, my mom has always been the one doing for others. I remember when my brothers and I were younger she would host a vacation Bible school in our backyard for the neighborhood kids. She even created fake money we could earn by memorizing Bible verses to buy little toys or treats. She always went above and beyond to help others whether it was with her creativity, lending a hand or just baking something. I've never seen another human be so selfless and put others before themselves time and time again. Now, it's time that she sees that she is first in our hearts. We love you, Mom."
She added that many have asked how they can help. "Our response is always, 'Pray, please.' We know God is there for us and we appreciate your prayers more than you know. Still, with any serious disease hospital bills can become a bit overwhelming so we thought we would create a GoFundMe. If you feel pulled to donate any amount — no amount is too small — then we welcome it with gracious, open arms. This year has been difficult and challenging," she said, but it has also shown that people come together in tough times to be one another's strength and support.
