Firefighters Battle Blaze at Baiting Hollow Country Club; Police Seeking Info

A travel trailer was fully engulfed in flames, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY - Firefighters responded to a blaze at the Baiting Hollow Golf Club recently, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, the fire broke out on March 21 at 6 p.m. at the golf club, located at 2454 Sound Avenue.

Upon police arrival a 2003 Timberland travel trailer was found fully engulfed in flames, police said. The fire damaged two additional vehicles parked near the trailer, authorities added.

The Riverhead Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire; the Riverhead Fire Marshal and Suffolk County Police Arson Squad were notified and responded to investigate the fire, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective division is asking anyone with information about the fire to contact the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500. All calls will remain confidential.
