Flanders Man Dies After 2-Car Bridgehampton Crash: Police
The crash took place on Wednesday night, police say.
BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — A Flanders man died after a two-car crash in Bridgehampton Wednesday night, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the crash took place at about 11:07 p.m. on Montauk Highway. When officers arrived, they found the driver of one of the vehicles uninjured and the two occupants of the second vehicle injured, one of them entrapped in the vehicle, police said.
The Bridgehampton Volunteer Fire Department responded and extricated the person; the Southampton Fire Department was activated to assist, police said. Both injured parties were subsequently transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, where the passenger, Jose Uceda-Saravia, 39, of Flanders, New York, succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The New York State Police accident reconstruction unit responded to the scene to assist Southampton Town Police detectives with their investigation. No criminality is currently suspected, police said.
