Heartbroken Daughter Needs Help To Bury Beloved Mother

RIVERHEAD, NY — A broken-hearted daughter in Riverhead needs help to lay her beloved mother to rest.

A GoFundMe, "Please Help Lay My Mom To Rest," was created by Brittany Brewer: "As many may know, my mother Tammy Brewer, or maybe from school you knew her as Tammy Spanburgh, passed away on Friday Sept. 28, a day before her 56th birthday," she wrote.

"She was strong-willed and independent; also the sweetest, most caring woman you could ever meet; she would do anything for her friends or loved ones. She taught me compassion and love and how to find strength inside yourself that maybe you didn't even know you had. Her entire life she was a caregiver, never worrying about herself and always making sure those around her had all they needed, especially my brother and I," Brewer wrote.

"My mom meant the world to me and I know she touched the lives of so many others — and now it's her time to finally be at peace. I know she is flying high with my brother, who she so dearly missed and our grandma and her own mother," Brewer said.

Unfortunately, Brewer said, her finances will not allow for her to pay for a viewing for her mother's loved ones to say good-bye.

"If you can find it in your hearts to donate so that we can say good-bye the right way to one of the most amazing women to ever walk this earth, I would appreciate it more than words can say," she said. "Thank you for your time and understanding and all your kind words and support. I know my mom would be touched."
