I am very proud to be endorsed by The Sierra Club. I grew up fishing in the Peconic Bay, swimming in the Long Island Sound and exploring the Pine Barrens. I treasure these open spaces and recognize the necessity of strong environmental protections to sustain and promote our economy. We must protect the natural resources that make our home such a wonderful place to live.
As a candidate for State Assembly, I have made environmental protection a pillar of my campaign. In the Assembly, I will support:
- Purchasing development rights to preserve open space;
- Promoting sustainable farming;
- Supporting new, environmentally friendly business to lower the property tax burden; and
- Providing tax credits for energy efficiency and sustainable energy production.
