LI Man Charged With Assault, Grand Larceny: Police

He was arrested Wednesday, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Flanders man was arrested and charged with a number of crimes recently, including assault and grand larceny, police said.

First, Riverhead town police said, on September 27, officers responded to Home Depot on Old Country Road in regard to a prior theft of several Milwaukee tools on September 20. An investigation revealed that Nicholas J. Fisher, 37, had stolen the tools, police said.

Fisher was arrested on Wednesday at 1:47 p.m. and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, as well as three counts of petty larceny in relation to prior thefts from Home Depot, police said.

Meanwhile, on July 25, a report came in about an assault that reportedly took place on July 6 on Zion Street, police said. The person said he'd been assaulted by two males. An investigation determined that Fisher was one of the assailants, police said.

Also on Wednesday, at 12:57 p.m., Fisher was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, police said. Fisher was processed, arraigned, and remanded to the Suffolk County correctional facility, police said.
