Man Arrested 2X In 1 Day During String Of Thefts On LI: Police
He was arrested and charged and then, went out and stole again, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A man was arrested and charged twice in one day during a string of thefts in Riverhead recently, police said.
According to Riverhead Town police, on November 9 at 8 a.m., Raymond Soutar, 56, of Mastic Beach, stole two electric scooters from Walmart, located on Old Country Road. Next, on November 11, at 10:28 a.m., he stole various home heating items from Lowe's, also located on Old Country Road, police said.
On November 14 at y 8:45 a.m., Soutar was arrested and charged with two counts of petty larceny, stemming from those twko incidents; he was released on a desk appearance ticket with a future court date, police said. Later on November 14 at 3 p.m., Soutar, after being released, stole numerous Ring camera products from Best Buy on Old Country Road and was arrested again, police said. He was processed and released on a desk appearance ticket with a future court date, police said.

On Thursday, at 2:28 p.m., Soutar was arrested again and charged with grand larceny in relation to a theft on November 14 at 6:17 p.m. at Polo Ralph Lauren at the Tanger Outlet, police said.
He was slated for arraignment at Riverhead Justice Court Thursday, police said.
