Man Arrested After Woman Suffers Lacerations To Arms, Chest: Police
He was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead man was arrested Saturday after a woman was hospitalized following lacerations to her arms and chest, police said.
Riverhed Town police said the incident took place at 2:52 a.m. on West Main Street in Riverhead. A call came in about a disturbance at the location; when police arrived, it was determined that a woman had been injured and taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center prior to the arrival of officers, authorities said.
Hayden Dixon, 31, was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree assault, a felony, and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said. He was taken to the Riverhead Police Department, arraigned, and released on his own recognizance, police said.
