Man Assaulted In Downtown Riverhead Wednesday Night: Police

He was found with a laceration on his wrist, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A man was assaulted in Riverhead Wednesday night, police said.

According to Riverhead Town police, a report came in at 8:30 p.m. about a possible assault in progress on West Main Street. Responding officers found a male with a laceration to his left wrist, police said.

He was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps for treatment of the non-life threatening injury, police said.

He was uncooperative and refused to speak to the police about the incident, police said.
