Man Assaulted, Robbed By Group in Riverhead: Cops

A man was injured after he was assaulted and robbed by a group of people sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning in Riverhead, according to Riverhead Town Police.

The Riverhead Police Department responded to a robbery that occurred by Middle Road west of Doctors Path.

The victim, a 46-year-old man reported he was physically assaulted by three to four unknown people sometime between Saturday, Dec. 12 at about 11 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 13 at about 5 a.m., police said.

The man told police he was beaten and received lacerations to his face which required medical attention, according to police.

The man also stated that his wallet and personal effects including $ 500 in cash and a cell phone were taken, police said.
