Man Charged With DWI After Crash Had Baby, 7 Months, In Vehicle: PD

The incident took place Friday night, poice say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead man was arrested Friday after he was found driving while intoxicated with a 7-month-old baby in his pickup truck after a crash, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, the incident took place at 6:10 p.m. Police received a report about a crash involving a black Chevrolet pickup truck and a gray Jeep Cherokee in the eastbound lane of Main Road in Riverhead near the intersection of County Road 105, authorities said.

The driver of the pickup truck, Phillip Majeski, 40, was found to be intoxicated, and had a 7-month-old inside the vehicle, police said.

Majeski was arrested and charged with DWI in violation of Leandra's Law, a felony, and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
