Man Hospitalized After Being Assaulted, Robbed by Four People
The incident occurred on Thursday night.

A man was hospitalized after he was assaulted and robbed by four people in Riverhead on Thursday night, according to Riverhead Town Police.
Police responded to 303 Osborne Avenue where it was reported that a man had been assaulted at about 11:19 p.m.
Responding units found a man bleeding from the face and head, police said.

Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance responded to the scene, treated the man and transported him to Peconic Bay Medical Center for his injuries, which were non-life threatening, according to police.
An investigation conducted by the detective division found that the victim had been robbed of his cellphone by four individuals, two men and two woman, police said.

The subjects fled the area after repeatedly striking the victim about the face and head with an unknown object while removing his cell phone from his pocket, according to police.
A search of the area was conducted by patrol and K9 units, however the suspects were not located.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the crime or who may have information concerning the identity of the subjects involved is asked to contact the Riverhead Police Detective Division at 631-727-4500 ext 332.
