Take a look at what's going on around Riverhead this Thursday.

1. In celebration of Read Across America Day, Riverhead Patch will welcome Riverhead Free Library director Lisa Jacobs this afternoon to submit her Top 5 reads for kids, in our weekly "Patch Picks" column.
2. A class at East End Arts Council begins today for homeschooled children, running on Thursdays for the next nine weeks. The course, is open for children ages 5-9 and will run from 9:30-10:30 this morning. The cost is $100 for EEAC members and $150 for non-members.
3. At the Suffolk County Community College of Culinary Arts, students will showcase their skills at this week. The first one starts today at noon, and the other is Thursday. The cost is $15, and reservations are suggested.
