No Serious Injuries After Accident Involving Bicyclist, Trailer: Police

"It could have been serious, but it wasn't." — Riverhead Police.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A bicyclist who was initially believed to have been pinned under a trailer escaped serious injury Monday morning, police said.

According to Riverhead Police, the accident, which took place at the intersection of Horton and Sound Avenues, took place when the bicyclist collided with the trailer and was "knocked under", but not "run over," police said.

"It could have been serious, but it wasn't," police said.

The cyclist was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for "precautionary measures", with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
