String Of Thefts In Calverton Leads To Arrest: Police (patch.com) — Riverhead police arrested a 34-year-old man after a series of early-morning thefts from vehicles and an open garage in the Calverton area, recovering numerous suspected stolen items with help from a K-9 unit. The suspect was charged with multiple felonies and held at Riverhead Town police headquarters for arraignment, while authorities urge any additional Riverhead-area victims to contact detectives.
   

2. Police: Trio wanted for Target shoplifting in Riverhead (riverheadlocal.com) — Riverhead police and Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are asking for your help identifying two men and a woman accused of stealing about $320 in clothing from the Target on Old Country Road on August 4. Anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers could earn a cash reward, and all information shared will be kept confidential while the investigation continues.
   

3. Riverhead school business official leaving after just months on the job (timesreview.com) — Riverhead's assistant superintendent for business, Colleen Card, is leaving at the end of October for a similar role in Sag Harbor, just months after taking over the district's finances. The Riverhead school board has already posted the vacancy and expects to fill it by November 1, as the business office continues implementing reforms prompted by a recent state comptroller's audit.
   

4. Riverhead grad arrested after Yankees-Mets field incident (riverheadlocal.com) — A 2006 Riverhead High School graduate, Kelly Marcucci, was arrested after running onto the field at Friday's Yankees-Mets game at Yankee Stadium while carrying a Palestinian flag. NYPD charged the Bay Shore resident with misdemeanor trespass and interfering with a professional sporting event, and yearbook records confirm his Riverhead sports background in football, baseball, and winter track.
   

5. Classic Rock Star – Jon McKennedy Doubles At Star Classic: RaceDayCT News Update For Monday Sept. 14, 2026 (racedayct.com) — Riverhead racing fans will want to note that the Whelen Modified Tour is returning to Riverhead Raceway this Saturday, with the Grennan family already celebrating a big weekend there. The wider roundup also covers wins and streaks from Star Speedway in New Hampshire to NASCAR Cup action and upcoming Late Model and Modified events across the Northeast.
