Police: Arrest Made in Robbery, Attempted Robbery at Tanger Outlets
Police make arrest after responding to "suspicious person" report at the outlets on Friday.

A Manorville man was arrested on Friday and charged in a robbery and an attempted robbery at the Tanger Outlets in Riverhead, according to Riverhead Town Police.
Police responded to the outlets on Friday at 3:32 p.m. after receiving a call of a “suspicious person,” police said. An investigation led to the arrest of 25-year-old Nicholas A. Rutigliano, police said.
Rutigliano is accused of robbing the Sunglass Hut on Tuesday. Police said he displayed a knife and demanded money from a store employee shortly before 2 p.m. He then fled with an unknown amount of cash, police said.

On Thursday, Rutigliano, again armed with a knife, tried to rob the Movado Company Store located at Tanger, police said.
Police said the suspicious person call on Friday was made based on a Suffolk County Crime Stoppers alert for the Sunglass Hut robbery.

Rutigliano is charged with first degree robbery and first degree attempted robbery.
He was arraigned on Saturday and is being held on $10,000 cash bail, according to Newsday.
