Police: Man Shot at in Parking Lot of Riverhead TGI Fridays

A man was shot at, but not injured, in the parking lot of a Riverhead TGI Fridays early Thursday morning, according to Riverhead Town Police.

Officers responded to the sound of gun shots by the restaurant at 1480 Old Country Road at about 12:12 a.m.

Upon police arrival, they found that two unknown men had shot at a male victim in the parking lot of the restaurant, police said.

The two men then fled the area in a car heading westbound on Old Country Road, police said.

No one was injured during the shooting, according to police.

It was later determined that the shooting was not random and the victim had “prior dealings” with the two shooters, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has any information to contact the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500. All calls will remain confidential.
