Police: Riverhead Duo Arrested on Drug Charges

The two were arrested after an investigation into drug sales at a home, police say.

Two people were arrested on drug charges as a result of an investigation into drug sales in Riverhead on Wednesday, according to Riverhead Town Police.

The East End Drug Task force, in cooperation with the Riverhead Town Police, executed a search warrant at 641 Doctors Path, Apt. 5, police said.

Task Force members, assisted by Riverhead Town Police Department C.O.P.E. and K-9 units and Suffolk County Emergency Services, found crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash in the home, according to police.

The residents of the apartment, Tanisha Whitley, 31, and Darryn Hardin, 28, were arrested at the scene, police said.

Both were charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (intent to sell), fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of marijuana, according to police.
