Police: Riverhead Man Arrested After Robbing, Assaulting Two Men With Metal Pipe
The man attempted to run away into the woods, police said.

A Riverhead man was arrested for robbing and assaulting two men with a metal pipe on Old Quogue Road on Thursday, according to Southampton Town Police.
Anthony Jenkins, 50, approached two men walking by, asked them for money, and then hit them with the pipe, police said.
The two men fought back and Jenkins ran into the woods, according to police.

Suffolk County Police Aviation and Suffolk County Sheriff K-9 responded to the area to assist in finding him and he was arrested a short time later near the scene.
The two victims were treated for minor injuries.

Jenkins was charged with first degree robbery, third degree criminal possession of a weapon, and second degree assault, according to police.
